As there was a sudden rise in Covid-19 cases, the Uttarakhand government has issued fresh guidelines for celebrations of the Holi festival. Earlier this week, the central government had advised states to put in place local restrictions during the festive season.
The Uttarakhand government’s guidelines include,
(1.) During the Holika Dahan ceremony, in which a fire is burnt on the eve of the festival, only 50 percent of people will be authorised to be present.
(2.) Those above 60 years of age and children below ten years are urged not to participate in the ceremony and celebrations. People with serious illnesses to are requested to refrain from attending.
(3.) In containment zones, Holi celebrations will be completely banned. In those areas, people can only celebrate within their own homes.
(4.) Colours should be avoided.
(5.) Food items should not be distributed and shared. If it is absolutely necessary, disposable utensils should be used for the same.
So, we urge you to have an eco-friendly holi this year by saving water and using chemical free colours. We at Anti Corona Task Force wishes you and your family a very happy and safe holi.
Stay Safe, Play Safe.
