The Union Health Ministry on Sunday (18th April) released its data which showed the highest-ever single-day rise of 2,61,500 COVID-19 cases in India. The total tally of COVID-19 cases has increased up to 1,47,88,109 and the number of active cases gas exceeded the 19-lakh mark.
Even the death count increased with a record 1,629 new fatalities in a single day. The total number of deaths die to COVID-19 in India is more than 1,77,000.
For the 39th day in a row, the cases have seen a steady increase, and the active cases stand at 19,29,329. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 86%.

– 7th August 2020 – 20 lakh cases
– 23rd August 2020 – 30 lakh cases
– 5th September 2020 – 40 lakh cases
– 16th September 2020 – 50 lakh cases
This shows the steadily increasing COVID-19 tally in India since August 2020.
An alarming situation has got triggered in the country. In the meanwhile, several states have imposed curfews, and lockdowns to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. It is advised to follow the general COVID-19 protocols and to get yourself vaccinated when your turn arrives.
